Description:
Real Estate, one of US indie's greatest treasure trove of golden rules and love of music, releases their latest album "The Main Thing", the fifth album in three years by Real Estate, one of the leading US indie rock bands of the decade! Tentatively titled "Special Album," the band pushed themselves to record the album over the course of a year with countless sessions at Marcata Sound in upstate New York. For the first time in its history, the group has welcomed musicians other than its own members to join the group, and the preceding single "Paper Cup" features the percussion and congas of Matt Barrick of The Walkmen and Aaron Johnston of Brazilian Girls, respectively, and a light disco flair with a soft duet by Sylvan Esso's Amelia Myss. The preceding single "Paper Cup" with a soft duet by Sylvan Esso's Amelia Meath, "Procession" with its bright two-note theme wrapped in shifting chords and beats, "Gone" a lament with a synthesizer fog over a downer drum machine and lilting guitar work, and the band's harmonies take the listener into a golden land of The album contains 13 tracks, including "Also A But," which transports the listener to a golden peachland of colors, and "Brother," a gem of an instrumental track that frontman Martin Courtney completed from a demo he had been warming up to for four years, inspired by the exquisiteness of Joni Mitchell's "Escape. Ultimately, the album title was taken from a classic song from the late Roxy Music era, and the result is a special work that lives up to its name. The band will again be engineered by Vin McMahon, who helmed the second album "Days," and the artwork will be by Björn Copeland of Black Dice.
