Description:
The annual New Year's Eve Berlin Philharmonic Gillvester Concert 2018 features Barenboim playing the role of Barenboim! The video of the Berlin Philharmonic's Gillvester Concert at the end of 2018 is now available. Rattle retired in June 2018 after 16 years as chief conductor, and the 2018/19 season saw the orchestra without a chief conductor for a year until Kirill Petrenko took over. Daniel Barenboim will be the conductor for its year-end concert. The first half of the concert will feature Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 26 "Coronation," followed by Ravel's orchestral works "Spanish Rhapsody," "Morning Song of a Clown," "Pavane for a Late Princess," and "Bolero. Barenboim performed Ravel's works, which have "Spain" as their motif, as one Spanish-style symphony. The encore, Bizet's "Carmen" Suite, is also full of Spanish sentiment, and the performance is a great New Year's Eve celebration. The Blu-ray release includes high-resolution audio (24bit/96k) for a clearer and more realistic sound. King International
