This oversized vintage chapati riser from India was once used as a raised platform in traditional kitchens for preparing and serving roti. Hand-carved from solid wood, it carries the weight and presence of something that’s lived a full life.

We hand selected this one for its chunky, thick pedestal base and generous round top. The surface isn’t perfectly level, a natural result of age and hand-carving, but it’s sturdy and easily holds everyday essentials: pottery, candles, salt and pepper mills or olive oil bottles.

Shes a substantial statement piece for layered kitchens, coffee bars, or anywhere that needs warmth and history.
