The slide rail body is magnesium-aluminum alloy. The fixed shaft is stainless steel (6mm diameter). All tool blades are 45# tool steel hardened to HRC40–45 — a hardness range that balances toughness and edge retention for repeated use on camera rig hardware. For reference, HRC40–45 is comparable to many professional hand tool standards.

The 5mm hex key is specifically designed for large tripod leg tube tightening and film industry grade large equipment. For camera body screws and cold shoe mounts, the 1.5mm–2.5mm keys are generally the right range. For cage screws and baseplate hardware, 3mm–4mm are most commonly used. Having all six sizes in one tool means you won’t need to guess which to bring.

Yes. The mounting plate on the body includes Standard 1/4” screw holes (×2), a Standard 3/8” screw hole, and a Standard Arri Locating Hole — the three most common mounting standards in the photography and cinema industry. The Standard NATO Rail on the side is compatible with NATO-rail handles, cages, and accessory mounts from most major brands.

Generally, yes. The magnesium-aluminum alloy body is lightweight and corrosion-resistant for outdoor use. The 45# tool steel blades (HRC40–45) hold up well to repeated field use. The tool is not rated as waterproof, so we recommend protecting it from prolonged rain or moisture exposure. Note that screwdriver and hex key tools may not be permitted in carry-on luggage — pack in checked baggage when flying.
