Very rare first edition of the life of John Fawcett [1739-1817]. An early hearer of George Whitefield before his death, he joined the Methodists, but later became convinced of the believer's sole right to baptism. He soon became one of the most influential Baptist preachers of the day, substituting for John Gill. On Gill's death, he was offered the church. He was an early supporter of the Baptist Missionary Society, including William Carey, etc. A fantastic volume and very rare on the market. No copies available.
