Rat Tail is not a pannier rack - this minimalist rack is designed to support a 6-9" (15-23cm) diameter drybag and serve as an alternative to a bikepacking seat pack.

Weighing in at 410g, including all mounting hardware, it is lighter than many seat packs of the same size - even after adding a drybag and straps - while offering more stability, full use of a dropper post, and a place to install bottle cages, cargo cages, or other accessories.

Rat Tail is designed to work on nearly any bike, without needing threaded rack mounts on your frame. It mounts to the seat post or seat tube with an included clamp, and the vertical struts mount to the seat stays with either heavy duty zip-ties or small hose clamps. On larger road frames, where the seat post might be a long ways above the rear tire, you might be interested in the option of using a Seat Stay Bridge Adapter to mount from a fender or brake mount on the seat stay bridge.
