Ajrakh is an ancient form of hand-block printing and resist-dyeing, originating over 4,500 years ago.

Primarily practiced in Kutch (Gujarat), Barmer (Rajasthan) it is known for using natural dyes (indigo, madder) and geometric, symmetrical patterns inspired by nature, representing a 3D effect through intricate, multi-step crafting.

Jabbar Khatri living in Kutchh region of Gujarat, has been a crusader in creating fashion in Ajrakh from fabric to Sarees, dupattas and stoles in myriad hues of red indigo blue and black.

He lives in raw and plain surroundings working through his sun roof workshop to give these beautiful hand blocked stoles. His National Handloom status is a gift from the Ministry of Textile.
