The Blue Smart IP22 12/15(1) uses a seven-stage adaptive charging process that adjusts to the actual condition of the battery rather than following a fixed time-based cycle. This matters in practice because batteries presented to a charger in varying states of charge or age will receive an appropriate charge profile rather than a generic one. The equalisation stage, available for flooded lead-acid batteries, helps recover stratified or sulphated cells when applied periodically.
